Senior Night Rehearsal - Page 3

Last Updated: January 7, 2007

So can you now see why I saved the best for last? The final page of the year is the Senior Appreciation Night! Even though the Class of 2007 was a bit smaller this year, their spirit compensated to allow us to have a great season. I dedicate my last page of 2006 to all of them...

Unlike all other rehearsals, this night is much more relaxed and fun because of the evening run-through without the senior class and because of the parent skit at the end of the night. The run-through took a major hit without our most experienced members. In fact, the 3rd movement started off so out-of-time, that Mr. Sybilski had to tell us to reset!

A larger portion of the night was taken up by the comical parent skit on the field. To the music of the original Queen music, the parents performed visual moves, reminiscent of the ones that we do in the field show. They tried their best and succeeded in getting much laughter. Strangely, there was a glitch and halfway through their performance they had to start over! The good news is that it gave me plenty of time to take pictures!

The night was concluded by a marching band graduation ceremony for the seniors. Each senior's name was called out by Mr. Sybilski and made a run down a long aisle of flags held by the parents. All of them then recieved a big poster with their name accompanied by tons of applause and cheering from all of us. These big signs can be seen in some of the ending photos. It is a really sentimental night for them. I really hope that these pictures will bring back some great memories...

Well that's it. This is the last page for 2006 and I really hope you have looked at every single picture (at your own free will of course!). This is what marching band is all about! It is amazing just to think of the number of people that touch our lives in so many ways...
