Last Updated: November 24, 2006 Another football game...another half-time show! Our second performance for an audience took place on Thursday, September 21, 2006, the football team playing against El Camino. This time I actually decided to take some pictures! Enjoy!
That night, we performed We Will Rock You and all of Bicycle Race! If I am not mistaken, Mr. Cook also introduced Rachelle and Dana over the stadium speakers. The show went well as far as I know without any mishaps like our first game. However, Dana told me afterwards that the saxophones had been rushing and I felt it during the show too.
The great news is that we recieved some response from the audience that night during the bicycle race! The attention and applause that we usually get from the Poway crowds is almost nothing at all. This time, we got the exact same dead response but once we brought out the bikes, some of the poeple who hadn't already left for the snack stand actually cheered! It's actually pretty sad, but at least we know for sure that we're not playing for dead corpses alone!
And finally, it was also middle schooler night! That evening, middle schoolers from Twin Peaks and Meadowbrook came to get a little taste of marching band! (It was kind of like a teaser!) We were told to tell them that marching band is the greatest thing in the world. I think they bought it too! Anyway, the most amazing thing was that we had over 50 clarinets total! We could have taken up two ranks in warmup arcs and claimed six ranks in the marching block! We could have taken on the football team! I hope we really made a good impression on the middle schoolers and I hope to see all of them next year in the EB!
